Nadba Tradition
Al Shehhi Tribe, RAK
Cultural Preservation

Entering a Closed World
The Al Shehhi tribe of Ras Al Khaimah is one of the UAE's most traditional and strictly guarded tribal communities. Their Nadba, the ceremonial war cry passed down through generations, is not handed to outsiders. We earned the trust of the tribe's elders and received formal permission to document and re-arrange the Nadba, a step that required navigating deep cultural protocols and genuine personal relationship-building.
Preserving the Essence, Widening the Palette
The production approach was forensic and respectful. The original Nadba was recorded with the tribe in its authentic form, then re-arranged into a cinematic piece that could carry the emotional weight of the war cry to international ears, without diluting what makes it sacred to the Al Shehhi. The production fuses the raw percussion and vocal power of the original with a Western orchestral palette designed to make it accessible globally while remaining true to its source.
Received Back by the Tribe
The finished piece was well received by the Al Shehhi community. It found its way into the tribe's own social circles, used in wedding invitations and internal group communications as a marker of pride. When a tribe uses your production to celebrate itself to itself, you got it right.
